Uno studio condotto dal professore Adrian North dal Dipartimento di Psicologia della Heriot-Watt University di Edinburgo sull’abbinamento vino e musica, ha evidenziato come, per una soddisfacente degustazione del vino, ci sia una stretta correlazione con l’ascolto di brani musicali che consentono di esaltare il gusto e gli aromi del vino bevuto. Anche il vino, come il susseguirsi di note, è musica, consente infatti di provare emozioni, ricordi, atmosfere. I risultati della ricerca sono stati pubblicati sul British Journal of Psychology: 250 studenti hanno degustato un Cabernet Sauvignon ed uno Chardonnay cileno accompagnati da un brano musicale. Le opere selezionate hanno dato interpretazioni incredibili, i Carmina Burana di Carlo Orff, sono stati definiti “potenti e pesanti”, mentre “sottile e raffinato” il Valzer dei fiori dallo Schiaccianoci di Tchaikovsky, ancora la “energica e rinfrescante” Just can’t get enough dei Depeche Mode, “pastosa e soft” Slow Breakdown di Michael Brook. Lo studio ha rilevato come la musica riesca a stimolare alcune zone del cervello e quando contemporaneamente si beve il vino tali aree influenzano le sensazioni che si stanno percependo con la degustazione. La cosa più stimolante è consultare la carta musicale dei vini che è stata elaborata successivamente allo studio: per il Cabernet Sauvignon brani potenti come Honky Tonk Women dei Rolling Stones, All Along the Watchtower nella versione di Jimi Hendrix Won’t Get Fooled Again degli Who. Per enfatizzare il gusto morbido e rotondo del Merlot si consiglia Easy di Lionel Ritchie e Heartbeats di Josè Gonzales, per la corposità del Syrah adatto Nessun dorma di Puccini, interpretato da Luciano Pavarotti. Passando ai bianchi la nota versatilità dello Chardonnay si adatta perfettamente a brani pop-rock con influenze disco quali Atomic di Blondie, Rock DJ di Robbie William, What’s Love Got To With It di Tina Turner e Spinning Around di Kylie Minogue, con la piacevolezza del Pinot Grigio perfetta l’energia un po’ trasgressiva di un qualsiasi pezzo di Lady Gaga. La lista potrebbe andare avanti all’infinito, ma meglio lasciare libero spazio alla fantasia di ognuno di noi per cercare la degustazione musicale perfetta!
