Il B&B deve il proprio nome alle iniziali degli ingredienti con il quale viene preparato, Bénédictine e Brandy. La storia narra che venne creato negli Stati Uniti presso il famoso 21 Club di New York,  in piena era proibizionista o appena dopo, il cocktail viene infatti datato 1930/1937. Il Bénédictine, liquore francese prodotto con 27 spezie e piante, ha una storia ultra centenaria e viene utilizzato per altri cocktail molto noti, tra gli altri il Singapore Sling. C’é poi chi sostiene che il B&B fosse originariamente preparato come pousse café: i due componenti venivano sovrapposti in un bicchiere stretto, il Bénédictine più pesante si trovava sotto, il brandy più leggero sulla superficie. La bevanda veniva servita calda.

4,5 cl  Bénèdictine
4,5 cl Brandy

Versare in un tumbler basso la Bénèdictine ed il Brandy  direttamente su 4/5 cubetti di ghiaccio. Decorare con mezza fetta di limone. Questo cocktail si potrebbe abbinare ad una grigliata mista nelle prime domeniche primaverili che arriveranno!

It owes its name to the initials of the ingredients with which it is prepared, Bénédictine and Brandy. The story goes that it was created in the United States at the famous 21 Club in New York, at the height of the prohibition era or just after, the cocktail is in fact dated 1930/1937. Bénédictine, a French liqueur made from 27 spices and plants, has a history of more than a hundred years and is used in other well-known cocktails, including the Singapore Sling. There are also those who claim that it was originally prepared as a pousse café: the two components were stacked in a narrow glass, the heavier Bénédictine was underneath, the lighter brandy on top. The drink was served hot. 

Ingredients for 1 cocktail

4,5 cl  Bénèdictine
4,5 cl Brandy

Pour the Bénèdictine and Brandy directly over 4/5 ice cubes in a low tumbler. Decorate with half a slice of lemon. This cocktail could be paired with a mixed grill on the first spring Sundays to come!
